Ms. Katia Perez

About: Hello! My name is Katia Perez and I aspire to guide the future generation into the right direction. My goal is to help each of my students thrive by having them recognize their full potentials. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I feel very fortunate to call the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California my home. I love learning just as much as I love teaching! My hobbies/interests include drawing, traveling, cooking, and exploring.

Education: I graduated in May 2019 with high honors from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies (the teacher preparation option). I chose to specialize in Science as it is one of my favorite subjects to teach and learn about.

Teaching experience: The 2019-2020 school year is my first official year as a teacher! However, during my time at CSUN, I was a Teacher’s Assistant at my former elementary school for grades K-5, a private tutor, and a tutor for various college math courses at CSUN. Teaching has always been a part of my lifestyle.

Teaching at Ribet: The 2019-2020 school year is also my first year at Ribet Academy! I teach a 4/5th grade split class and couldn’t be happier. I love teaching these grade levels because the students are able to critically analyze and think more about the various subjects they’ve been learning about during prior years.

Favorite part of Ribet: The beauty in and out of the school. Ribet has gorgeous views of Los Angeles’s geographical beauty and has hallways decorated with wonderful student artwork. Walking around Ribet is like walking in a museum of art. Students at Ribet are clearly able to discover their talents and work toward their unique potentials.
