Sandro Guerra

About: I teach figurative painting and drawing, and I specialize in portrait
and human figure. I was born in La Havana Cuba, but at age twelve I
moved with my family to the Dominican Republic, where we build a
successful ballet academy. In DR, I also had the opportunity to study Art at
the Institute of Culture and Art, and at Altos de Chavón School of Design.
In 2001, I received a full scholarship to continue my Art education at the
New School University of New York where I have lived most of my life, I
have also lived and teached in Miami, and now in this wonderful city of Los
Angeles where I have set my highest expectations.

Education: I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the New School
University of New York and I also studied Math and General Science for
over four Years at the City College of New York. I have attended the
classes of modern masters Lennart Anderson at Brooklyn College for two
years, and Nelson Shanks at The New York Student League and Studio
Incamminati for over three years. I am an academically trained painter so
my students get the opportunity to truly study painting and drawing with
discipline, rigor, and professionalism it requires, but also with the passion
and the enthusiasm that its indispensable to do a true work of Art.

Teaching since: I have been teaching at multiple head start programs in
New York since 2009, I have been TA for Nelson Shanks at the Art
Students League of New York, I have also teched at Miami Fine Arts
Academy for over two years, and I have been manager, director, and head
instructor at Sip Tales Art Studio also in Miami.

Favorite part about Ribet: I really appreciate the learning environment at
Ribet Academy. Ribet students are serious, focus, hardworking and always
interest in learning more. The small class sizes and freedom we have in the
classroom enables us to truly give students the quality of education they
truly deserve.
