Sports

High School sports are an integral part of the American High School experience. It offers students the opportunity to develop important life skills such as discipline, leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship. They also foster a sense of camaraderie and school spirit among students as they come together to support their teams. A school with more spirit also leads to a much happier and community based environment. As a College Preparatory school we also understand that a student must be well rounded to get into and succeed while at University.

Fitness, learning to make you friends, working with others, and maintaining a work/personal life balance are all important skills taught by being a part of a team. Below are some, but not all sports we have on campus.

Basketball:

Basketball is the most popular sport among high school athletes, including Ribet.  It requires agility, coordination, and teamwork. Ribet’s trophy showcase shows off awards for CIF Southern Regional Champions for Division I, Division 2A, Division 4 and 4A. Our success extends beyond the court, as our team members embodied the values of sportsmanship and represented our school with pride.

Volleyball:

Our goal is to cultivate a positive and enriching experience for both the players and the school community. Volleyball is the perfect fit for a school like Ribet. Being a team sport played with six players on each side, all players have the ability to both make or break the game. Even if we have 1 amazing player they cannot carry a game due the size of the court and positions of the opposite team. It leads to players learning to spike, serve, set, and block as a team. The sport emphasizes communication, teamwork, agility, and strategic thinking.

Soccer:

Soccer is a highly active sport that involves running, sprinting, jumping, and quick movements. Ribét students often find joy in the physical exertion and the rush of adrenaline that comes with playing the game. Engaging in soccer helps them stay fit, improve their stamina, and develop their overall athleticism. Soccer is not only a physically demanding sport but also a mentally stimulating one. They enjoy the challenge of making split-second decisions on the field, reading the game, and strategizing their moves. Soccer is a sport with global popularity, transcending boundaries and cultures.

Tennis:

Our tennis club provides a specialized program designed to meet the developmental needs of young players. These programs focus on technical skill development, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and mental preparation. The club organizes social events and gatherings specifically for teenage members to  allow teenagers to interact with their peers, build friendships, and enjoy the social aspect of being part of a tennis community.
