Math Department

          The Ribét Academy mathematics department is comprised of dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching mathematics and committed to developing outstanding mathematics students who are able to cultivate their critical thinking skills throughout their program of study. Teachers collaborate in designing lessons that ask students to reason and model with mathematics and to use mathematics to make connections to their own lives. 

 

          The mathematics curriculum is designed to support yet challenge students and the course sequence offers all students the ability to reach their fullest potential in preparing for college and careers. Each year, selected Ribét Academy students participate in various math competitions, such as the American Mathematics Competition, Math Olympiad, and local math competitions. 

 

          The Ribét Academy graduation requirement for all students is the successful completion of three years of mathematics. The mathematics department offers five Advanced Placement courses including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, AP Precalculus, and AP Statistics. A Ribét Academy graduate will be able to effectively analyze, interpret, and communicate mathematics and have the ability to persevere through problem-solving.
